Patrons
The Centre for the Study of Western Tradition is proud to announce the appointment of four Patrons who will be lending their expertise to the Centre's activities. They are:

Mr Peter Coleman, writer, journalist, former State and Federal MP, former editor of The Bulletin and of Quadrant, author of Memoirs of a Slow Learner; The Liberal Conspiracy; The Struggle for the Mind of Post-War Europe; and The Last Intellectuals (to be published in 2010). |

Professor Geoffrey Blainey AC is a distinguished Australian historian with a long career in academia. Among many other achievements, he was Professor of History at Melbourne University and Chair of Australian Studies at Harvard University and is the author of several works. He has also served on federal government committees and has received numerous awards for his scholarly work. |

Dr Philip Ayres has taught at Monash University, Boston University, the University of Adelaide and Vassar Collegea. He is an acclaimed scholar and author of several biographies of prominent Australian figures, including Cardinal Moran (Miegunyah Press, Melbourne, 2007), Owen Dixon (Miegunyah Press, 2003) Douglas Mawson (Miegunyah Press, 1999). |

Dr. James Franklin is Professor of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of New South Wales. He was born in Sydney and educated at Sydney University and the University of Warwick, where he gained a PhD in algebra. He is the author of The Science of Conjecture: Evidence and Probability Before Pascal, Corrupting the Youth: A History of Philosophy in Australia, What Science Knows, and other books. |
The Centre is honoured that these four eminent Australians have agreed to associate themselves with the foundation of the Centre and its goals.
