Scholarships

Campion has a number of scholarships available to assist students to finance their studies at Campion. Almost all of these scholarships are flexible in how they are used, whether for accommodation or for the payment of fees.

Students and parents need to take note that in terms of the payment of tuition fees, Campion has FEE-HELP which allows students to defer all of their fees through a student loan from the Federal Government. Students do not have to repay these fees until they commence work and are earning over $38,000 per year. In conjunction with this, a scholarship could be used in assisting with living expenses for students from interstate or country NSW.

Catholic Weekly Campion College Scholarship

Applications for the Catholic Weekly full fee scholarship will commence in September. Applicants need to check copies of the Catholic Weekly in September for details on how to apply.

The money for this scholarship will cover the cost of three years tuition at Australia's quality Catholic Liberal Arts College and will be awarded to the student who genuinely wishes to study at Campion and who can make the most deserving case for coming to Campion. This is an outstanding opportunity for a student to be given a headstart in life.  Click here to download the application form.

Students who have applied for this scholarship should also consider submitting other scholarship applications in case they are not awarded the Catholic Weekly scholarship.

The scholarships provide for an amount of $7000 to be paid to students each year for four years whilst they attend Campion and study to be a teacher. Students need to commit to teaching at schools adminsitered by the respective Catholic Education Offices for at least two years upon completion of their qualification.

The Catholic Education Office of the Diocese of Lismore is also on board, awarding 1 scholarship of $5000 per year to a student from the region wishing to take up teaching as a career. The student will need to be an enrolled student of Campion and will need to apply for the scholarship once enrolled at Campion College. This scholarship is awarded to students in first year who have enrolled at Campion. Applications for this scholarship close in April 2009.

Other Dioceses may also make scholarships available in the near future. Details of the nature of these scholarships will be made available to applicants as soon as they are known.

A postgraduate qualification in teaching will most likely be offered at Campion from 2010, and this, combined with a Bachelor of Arts in the Liberal Arts, will allow you to qualify as a teacher in secondary schools. In the meantime, a Campion degree will also gain admittance to a number of post graduate teaching courses at universities throughout Australia.

Applicants for these scholarships will be selected by the Catholic Education Offices of the Archdioceses of Sydney, Melbourne and Lismore through a process which will include an interview.

Students wishing to apply for these scholarships should lodge an application on the appropriate form available from Campion College. Note that submission dates differ depending on the scholarship. Each form has the date clearly labelled.
